Pool Supervisor

Prefer an adult, college graduate. This is a part time seasonal position to lead and support our lifeguard staff.


Job description:

The Brookfield Swim Club (BSC) is looking to hire a part time pool supervisor with flexible hours for the 2026 pool season. We are looking for a pool supervisor to oversee all swimming pool operations, work closely with managers and assistant managers to enforce policies and procedures, ensure efficient and effective operation of the facilities, and provide training and supervision of the lifeguard staff.

Responsibilities and duties:

Participate in interviewing and hiring of lifeguard staff (~15-20 individuals), including one manager and 2 assistant managers during the pre-season months.

Create schedule to staff pool during open hours, including one manager on duty and one certified pool operator present at all times. (using an app)

Develop expectations for staff rotations and breaks.

Train staff on use of pool management software for tracking pool attendance, concession sales, inventory management, and announcements of weather-related closings.

Train staff on writing of incident reports.

Train staff on facility cleaning procedures (bathrooms and deck).

Facilities maintenance, including pump room operations/chemicals, basic troubleshooting of pool equipment, maintaining chemical log.

Supervise staff enforcement of policies and rules.

Maintain positive public relationship with members and guests.

Respond to staffing requests for special events; ensure appropriate coverage for swim team events and special groups.

Support managers and assistant managers with problem solving any issues arising at the pool.

Act as liaison with BSC pool board.

Organize and lead in the following mandatory sessions prior to the pool opening:

1 orientation and planning session for manager/assistant pool managers,

1 orientation session for the lifeguards,

1 management training session for the manager/assistant pool managers,

1 mandatory training session for all staff.

Attend and participate in the following sessions during the season:

2 staff meetings, and

1 management training session for the assistant pool managers

Provide mid season staff reviews/evaluations.

Manage disciplinary issues as they arise; document as appropriate.


Qualifications and skills:

Required:

Excellent communication and people skills

Minimum of 3 years of staff management and training experience

Working knowledge of pool maintenance a plus

Strongly preferred - valid and current Pool Operator certification
